I’m Ken Aronson, a 30-year Truckee resident running for a Truckee Tahoe Airport Board position. I’m extremely passionate about our airport and what it has to offer our community, especially our youth. The airport is a community asset where innovation and education can increasingly soar through STEM-related programs and aviation opportunities. Please take some time to learn about my experiences and ideas, and I’d like to hear from our community.
Meet Ken Aronson
While working as a railroad engineer, and after retiring from my 39+ year career, I dedicated much of my time volunteering to create, direct and produce the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park “Mission to Mars” Space Camp for youth and to fly children in the EAA’s Young Eagles program. I’m also a former Civil Air Patrol Commander having volunteered with CAP’s active “Cadet” program.
Young adults and the youth are our future. At the airport I’d like to grow hands-on experiences to challenge our youth to create solutions for noise mitigation (maybe through aircraft modifications!), to explore ideas for fuel-efficient flying, advanced safety protocols, travel without cars…and so much more! Take some time to read about a Community Airport Hangar, where I envision a year-round space camp, Space Camp Saturdays, and community events, fundraisers and sports programs during the winter!
"This is An Airport for All".
As a pilot who flies in and out of the airport in my homebuilt experimental airplane, I know the requirements for safe and quiet flying. I know what improvements are needed to mitigate noise while keeping our pilots and community safe. And, I know the importance of analyzing and creating new ideas, inventions and solutions.
I have the knowledge and time to commit to the rigorous demands of the Airport Board. I’m sensitive to community needs and have ideas to enhance the public’s airport experience.
